Library Genealogy and Local History Print Resources:
We have a vast collection of print resources pertaining to genealogy and local history. Specifically, we have a wide selection of local and Ohio history information. Patrons can spend time in this space looking through the Bellevue Comet Yearbook years 1919-2013, Firelands Pioneer select years 1882-1937, Norwalk Reflector Obituaries from 1999 to present. There are select years of city and rural directories for Norwalk, Fremont, Sandusky, Erie and Seneca Counties along with the City of Bellevue. Surrounding towns and local area history and maps, including those of the city of Bellevue and the history of the Bellevue Public Library can be found as well. A selection of books can be found on the railroads including Nickel Plate. Census Indexes, Indian Wars Pension Files, Rosters of Ohio Soldiers, Official Rosters of Ohio Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines along with Immigration and Passenger Indexes from select years from 1600s to 2010 are also located in here. Everything is located in the Genealogy Room on the second floor of the Bellevue Public Library. Many of these items are available for check-out, while some of them may only be used within the library for research or reference purposes.
